The End of an Era
Last night, my streak of not meeting Zizek came to an end. A colleague of mine from CTS e-mailed me to ask if I was going to his lecture at U of C, which was the first I'd heard of it. I decided to go and, a little intimidated by the prospect of approaching him in an unmediated fashion, e-mailed Eric Santner to see if he would introduce me. He did, though apparently Zizek already knew my name from "all over the Internet." We then made plans to get together this afternoon to talk, and I just got back.Overall, it was a good thing.
