(12:30 PM) | Adam Kotsko:

I should learn Latin

Word on the street is that the CTS language exam in German is really easy -- they give you a book in the language, give you a few weeks to read it and familiarize yourself, then they give you a few pages to translate, with a dictionary, in a certain number of hours. No big deal.

So obviously, I need to learn a second language this summer: Latin. Enough of this perceived pressure to supposedly "speak" a supposed "living language" so that I can supposedly "communicate" in "it" (i.e., German or French). I already know how to pronounce Latin from church -- Ave Maria, gratia plena, dominum tecum... Whatever. Easy.

What book should I use again?
